The registered refugee population in Addis Ababa has duplicated in the last year to reach 71,555. There are various nationalities from 28 different countries represented in this population. The majority are refugees from Eritrea, and the remaining are from Yemen, Somalia, Syria, the DRC, South Sudan, Sudan, and other nations. 55 % are female, and 68 % are working-age adults (18 - 59 years). 57 % of households have women as heads of households. Regarding women at risk, it is estimated that the number accounts for some 11,624.
Women and girls tend to face different cultural barriers. In addition to inadequate skills training, work opportunities, and lack of capital to open businesses, women and girls face some additional obstacles on a regular basis. Those who access vocational skills training often lack the capital to start their businesses. There is a need to support refugee inclusion so that micro and small enterprises can become decent sources of income generation amongst target beneficiaries.
Every mile you donate goes a long way. It helps them empower micro and small enterprises in which refugees and host communities can participate to ensure that they access decent economic opportunities through equal participation.

- 11,000 miles can provide weekly micro-credit assistance to micro-enterprises.
